Cave and Water

My first American movie was Goonies. It was introduced to me by my grandpa ,and I am still thankful for him to make my first impression of America as such exciting, adventurous, and full of dreams.

Hard working grandpa who never stopped studying till his last days, he started to learn internet/email at the age of 80, he is my hero. All my family member told me I look just like my grandpa, and I think it's true... I am not as much of a hard worker as he was, but some behaviors I do feel familier from his. I also must say he influenced me in many ways, I didn't even began to realize until a few years after he passed away. But often times, when people die, you would start to realize/think about this person so much more. I suppose this means he is living inside me, and I am living my life with him.

He spoke multiple languages, always told me I need to speak at least two languages. He was well traveled (mostly for work), went to work till 85, he simply loved his job. Around the time he turned 80 (late 80s), which was about the time that home computer was finally started to spread in Japan, he bought a computer and started to type his own biography in MS word right after it was released. Maybe that's why I am always interested in new technologies.

Anyways I loved Goonies ever since then. And I had a huge crush on Data (was a fan of geeks since then), and it potentially influenced my fantasy of life. Since Goonies, every time I see caves with fountain/waterhole I get really excited. I especially like it if the water is getting some sun light from the top of the cave. I am also born in summer and love ocean. Water and Sun make me happy. I'd love to be a mermaid in my next life. Maybe it's one of the reason why I love Pirates of Caribbean the most at Disney land. This particular combination of cave and emerald green water always immediately takes me back to my childhood fantasy world. In a way, it's a magic.

Now speaking of Goonies, I really wanna go to Cannon beach, and have some beer at Pelican Pub looking at the Goonies rocks.

One of the many things I haven't done and been wanting to do: a road trip to Oregon coast.
